Robert-Pascal FONTANET

 Biography

Robert-Pascal FONTANETOriginally from Thônex, Me Robert-Pascal FONTANET was born in Geneva in 1951, where he obtained the classical high-school diploma (Latin and Greek) in 1969, his law degree in 1973, then five years later his solicitor's licence and after that a graduate degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva.

In 2000, Me FONTANET succeeded Mes Rodolphe BURGY, Mario BURGY and Maurice GROS, and since 2009 Mes Louis PICTET, Marc PICTET and Edouard KÜNZLER.

He has been president of the Geneva chamber of solicitors, of the Central register of wills (RCT) and of the Association of solicitors of European cities (ANME). In addition, he has been president and founder of the Cross-border Committee of Solicitors (CNT) as well as a member of the committees of the Swiss federation of solicitors (FSN) and the Geneva society of law and legislation (SGDL).

Today he is a member of the Solicitors' supervisory commission (CSN) and international correspondent of CRIDON (Solicitors' Centres of Research, Information and Documentation) in Paris and Lyons.

Me FONTANET is co-author of the recent Mélanges en droit commercial 2015 (Ed. swisNot.ch - Schulthess), with a study on legal quorums in public and private companies (SA and Sàrl). He also holds conferences in Switzerland and France, particularly in the area of LLM Banking & Finance at the University of Geneva, at the Geneva association of business law (AGDA) and at the CEDIDAC.

His military career led him to command an artillery regiment with the rank of Colonel of the General Staff.

Now living in Anières, he is married with six children, of whom Elsa FONTANET is trainee solicitor, and three grandchildren.

He likes to speak German.
